2016

The annual Women’s Conference, held each year since 2008, brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members to commemorate the theme of National Women’s History Month. The goal of the conference is to provide an opportunity for personal and professional development that is inclusive of the needs of women, regardless of cultural background.

The 2016 Women’s Conference theme was, “Working to Form a More Perfect Union: Honoring Women in Public Service & Government.” It was held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at the Cajundome Convention Center.

The keynote speaker for the 2016 conference was Dr. Kim Hunter Reed, Principal at HCM Strategists, former Chief of Staff for the Louisiana Board of Regents and former Executive Vice President for the University of Louisiana System.

The conference also featured several breakout session presenters who shared expertise in areas such as health and fitness, public service, leadership and empowerment, self-defense, entrepreneurship, and the art of negotiation.

We asked our attendees what they thought of the conference by sharing their comments on our evaluation form.
