The start of a new school year is exciting for everyone on a college campus. Freshmen are often leaving home for the first time, making their first steps toward the new adventure of the college experience. Faculty members are busy crafting syllabi and planning to teach innovative and impactful courses that will provide a lasting impression on their students. Staff and administrators are hard at work to ensure that the necessary resources and support are available for everyone in the campus community to succeed and thrive.
The start of a new school year is exciting for the Office for Campus Diversity. As I have learned through getting to know many students, faculty, and staff, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is a vibrant reflection of the wonderful culture that makes Acadiana so special. And at the same time, the campus community reflects the wonderful diversity of the human experience. It is this diversity that makes all of us better learners, better scholars, and better people. This is an exciting time to join the University community, and I look forward to supporting our campus culture as we strive to celebrate diversity.
