The Mentoring Program is designed to provide academic support to the first-time-freshmen who do not meet regular admission criteria.

The program consists of a team of faculty and staff, who have committed themselves to assist UL Lafayette students reach their academic and career goals. Each student (mentee) is paired with a faculty or staff member (mentor) who offers personal attention and guidance

The Mentoring Program offers:

Access to free university programs and service

Important information on how to pay for college

Personal attention from a mentor

A chance to meet key faculty and staff at the university

In addition, students take Academic Skills (ASCK) 100, Freshman Seminar in the Fall. Students who participate in the mentoring program enroll as a cohort. The class is designed to assist mentees with time management, study and test taking skills, career choices and many other important topics
