The purpose of the Diversity Advisory Council is to be a catalyst for change and an advocate for equity and diversity within the campus and surrounding community. The Council provides support for programming, training and resources to University students, faculty and staff, as well as community stakeholders. Additionally, the Council supports the mission of the Office for Campus Diversity in ensuring a campus culture that is inclusive and accepting of diverse perspectives.
The Diversity Advisory Council consists of community and campus leaders who are committed to promoting the values of diversity and inclusion on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The membership of the Council is reflective of the diversity within the campus community, based on a variety of characteristics such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, geographical region, religion and nationality.
